Did you know
  • The air ducts in your home or business provide a very important function. They circulate the air from your heating and cooling system into and out of each room, which allows for consistent interior comfort regardless of the season.

  • In fact, all of the air in your home or business circulates through the ducts multiple times a day. The air cycling through your ducts is the same air that completely fills your living environment…and it is the same air that you, your family, and employees breathe. As such, you want this air to be as clean as possible.

  • Air Duct Cleaning refers to the removal of dust and contaminants within the ductwork. This includes the supply and return air ducts as well as the registers and diffusers in each room. Powerful vacuums whisk away all dust and debris, preventing it from re-circulating throughout the home.

6 Top Benefits of Duct Cleaning

1.     Improves Air Flow Efficiency resulting in Lower utility costs

Ductwork and registers that have a heavy build-up of dust and grime can restrict the flow of air from the furnace and air conditioner. This means your system will have to work harder to heat or cool your home, resulting in a decreased level of efficiency. Conversely, a clean system will operate at peak efficiency and provide the most cost-effective performance for your energy dollar.

2.     Helps Everyone Breathe Easier

Even if no one in your household suffers from chronic allergies or respiratory problems, cleaner air makes it easier for everyone to breathe. Even among the most healthy, dust and pollutants entering the nose and lungs can trigger sneezing and coughing, as well as sinus and bronchial congestion. Air duct cleaning creates a more comfortable environment and promotes well-being. Given the choice between clean air and dirty air, which would you rather breathe?

3.     Removes Unpleasant Smells and Odors

Pets, household cleaning agents, paint fumes, mold, tobacco use and even food preparation all contribute to stale smells in the air ducts. Every time the furnace or air conditioner is running, these odors will repeatedly flow through the house. Even an accumulation of dust and dirt over the years can lead to a musty scent coming from the ductwork. A detailed cleaning of the air ducts removes all odor trapping particles, resulting in a fresher smelling home.

4.     Creates Healthy Living Environment

Having your air ducts professionally cleaned reduces the dust that would otherwise circulate throughout your living space. This lands on your furniture, your bedding, your flooring…basically everywhere. Fortunately, a thorough air duct cleaning reduces the amount of interior cleaning and dusting necessary to maintain a hygienic home.

5.     Reduce Allergens and Irritants

In addition to dust, air ducts frequently contain harmful contaminants and micro-organisms. These include pet dander, bacteria, pollen, mildew, mold spores, and similar toxins. People who suffer from allergies, asthma, and other respiratory problems are particularly sensitive to these airborne particles. A periodic air duct cleaning promotes healthier living…otherwise the dirty air in your home just keeps re-circulating over and over.

6.     Improves HVAC System Durability

Approximately 9 out of 10 heating and air conditioning systems malfunction or simply fail due to lack of routine maintenance performed regularly. Maintenance costs are significantly cheaper than replacing an entire system.

*Arctic is all about transparency with our Customers and establishing a standardized routine that guarantees top tier service on every HVAC duct cleaning service we complete.

It starts with a brief phone call, where you will be asked how many Supply Vents (vents that supply air) and how many Return Air Vents (typically larger vents that circulate air back to the furnace) you have in your Home or Business.

*Upon arrival at your home or business, our HVAC Duct Cleaning Technicians will introduce themselves and perform an initial walk-thru to verify the location & sizes of all vents to be cleaned. If you have missed a vent during the count you gave us, no worries! Our extremely affordable per-vent pricing ensures that even if there was a hard-to-see vent somewhere that you missed, any extra charges will be discussed with you prior to beginning work and will be very minimal. On the flip side, if you happened to guess high on your vent count, the Technician will adjust and lower your invoice accordingly, per the exact number of vents to be cleaned!

*The last step of having your ducts cleaned by Arctic is the sanitizing process.

Duct sanitizing is a multi-step process in which an EPA-approved chemical sanitizer(s) is thoroughly applied to the inside of your duct work to eliminate germs and biological growth, and prevent the development of new growth.

We use EnviroCon sanitizer. EnviroCon is used to eliminate odor-causing microorganisms and contaminants such as mold and mildew.  It can also treat bacterial growth. EnviroCon eliminates odors via a chlorine dioxide release-process that destroys organisms at the cell level. EnviroCon has low toxicity and a good safety rating from the EPA.

*While we are performing the cleaning we will inspect the duct system for any damage or unsealed joints and advise you if any repairs are needed or suggested. If there are any  needed repairs, we are happy to provide you with a quote for repairs.

***Plan on the complete service to take 2-3 hours. All vents need to be accessible by our technicians. Additional time fee will be applied if our technicians need to clear work areas.
